Jacqueline "Jackie" Byrd Raper, age 78, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Born in Bertie County, NC on May 24, 1938, she was the daughter of the late E. Goodwin Byrd and Elma Biggs Byrd. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Joyner Raper, Sr.; and sister, Ann Byrd Tayloe.

She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Philips and husband, John, of Wilmington; her son, Don Raper, Jr. and wife, Genie, of Rocky Mount, and her son, Chris Raper and wife, Leigh Ann, of Little Rock, AR; six granddaughters.

Services were held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Lakeside Baptist Church, Rocky Mount, with Dr. Jody Wright officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lakeside Baptist Church, 1501 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
