EDNA "PETE" CONNIE NELMS

Edna "Pete" Connie Nelms, 75, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017. She was born in Nash County on February 24, 1942, to the late Leslie and Lucille Connie.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Frederick Wayne Nelms, brothers and sisters, Jean Radford, Dorothy Melton, Buddy Connie, Margie Bryant, Bobby Connie, and Libby Smith.

She is survived by daughters, Regina Nelms Leggins (Bobby), Tampa Nelms Cooper (Steve), Amy Nelms Beasley (Keith); grandchildren, Brooke Sykes, Lindsey Shearin (Mitchell), Tyler Leggins, Devan and Gabe Cooper; great grandchildren, Macon Shearin, Chandler Sykes, and Colston Shearin; brothers, Elbert Connie and Donald Connie (Ginger). Life time friend, Barbara Radford, "side kick" and "partner in crime", Stella Bell and Byrd, our special family friend.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Mitchell Shearin officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be private at Rocky Mount Memorial Park on Monday, March 20, 2017.
