Pency Cary, age 91, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017. Born in Nash County on October 29, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Coy Pridgen and Molly Barnes Pridgen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Thomas Cary; daughter, Gail Bottoms; and brother, Lynwood Pridgen.

She is survived by her sons, Phil Cary of Rocky Mount; Roger Cary and wife, Wanda, of Nashville; and Stanley Cary and wife, Debbie, of Wilson; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Turner and Beatrice Whitby, both of Nashville.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Barnes Hill Baptist Church, 5592 West Mount Drive, Nashville with the Rev. H. E. "Dick" Singleton, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Barnes Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
