James "Earl" Bowers, 61, of Rocky Mount, died on November 21, 2016.

He was the son of Clarence and Grace Bowers.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Rocky Mount. The Interment took place privately.

Earl was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Spence.

He is survived by his parents, Clarence and Gracie Bowers; wife, Lavetta Bowers, three children, Earl Linelle Bowers, Chantel Yvette Bowers and Yolanda Bowers; three step-children, Craig Battle, Corey Battle and Lisa Battle; one brother, Mike Bowers; thirteen grandchildren; a very special niece that was like a daughter, Kesha Gray; three nieces; four nephews; a host of cousins and friends.
