James "Jim" Frederick Bishop, Jr.

James "Jim" Frederick Bishop, Jr., age 81, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016. Born in Edgecombe County on June 9, 1935, he was the son of the late James Frederick Bishop, Sr. and Eva Nunnally Bishop. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ila Godwin.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ann Whitaker Bishop; daughters, Catherine Bishop (Michael Owen) of Columbus, IN; Robbie Bennett (Dan) of Rocky Mount; son, Fred Bishop of Rocky Mount; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; sister, Frances Johnson of Winter Park, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at 10 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
