Richard "Terrapin" Winslow Winstead, Sr.

Richard "Terrapin" Winslow Winstead, Sr., 80, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, E. Melton and Estelle B. Winstead; two brothers, Melton and Marshall Winstead and an infant daughter, Frances Lynn Winstead.

He is survived by, his wife of 57 years, Mary Frances G. Winstead; his children, Ellen W. Manning (Jay), Richard W. Winstead, Jr. (Tommy Lloyd), Jennifer W. Vester-Carnahan (Dave): his brothers, Fred and Troy Winstead; 3 grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, July 11, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral Home of Nashville from 1:30-3 p.m. Graveside service will be held immediately after visitation at Forest Hill Cemetery of Nashville with Rev. Will Hoyle officiating.

In lieu of flowers, should you desire please make donations to The American Cancer Society. Donations can be mailed to Cornerstone Funeral Home @ 1052 South First Street, Nashville, NC 27856.
