Barbara Ann Harris Denton

Rocky Mount-Barbara Ann Harris Denton, 75, died Thursday February 18, 2016. Barbara was born February 5, 1941 in Nash County, daughter of the late Ollie Augusta and Nelia Greene Harris. She was administrative assistant at Arlington Baptist Church for over 18 years.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years John V. Denton, sons John V. "Van" Denton, Jr. and his wife Annette of High Point and Charles A. Denton and wife Donna of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, John V. Denton, III, Melanie Denton, Zachary Denton, Mia Denton, Caroline Denton, McKenzie Latham and Chase Latham; sisters, Mildred H. Brown of Rocky Mount and Louise H. Vick and husband John Burton Vick of Edenton; brother Sanford Harris and wife Betsy; sisters in law Myrtle Harris of Chase City, VA and Barbara W. Harris of Rocky Mount.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 Saturday at Arlington Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Coats officiating, burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM Friday at Arlington Baptist Church and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Arlington Baptist Church Building Fund, 1500 Bethlehem Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27803
