I wanted to write a letter about our police officers. The police across the nation have been getting piled here lately. But our police are there to protect and serve the public.
I had an incident a few days ago where I lost my house keys. I went to my brother's house to ride with him to see a program in Rocky Mount. After the program we came back to his house and I got in my car and drove home. When I got there I could not find my house keys. I called my brother and told him I would have to spend the night at his house. The next morning we came back to my apartment to see if we could figure a way to get in. I told my brother I was going to call the police and see if they had ways to get into houses. I knew they did unlock car doors. They said they would send someone out to see if anything could be done. Two fine young officers came out and tried to find ways to get in. In the mean time my brother got a partially locked window opened and one of the officers climbed in and unlocked my door. But my keys were no where to be found. After searching some more, my brother went home and about a half hour later called and said he had found my keys in his yard. What a relief it was.
But I just wanted to say those two fine officers were kind and helpful. They tried everything they knew to help. So let us support our police officers and not pile on them before we know the facts of a situation one may have been involved in.
In closing, I just want to again say thanks to those to officers. Our police officers deserve our support.
