Vickie Harris Mathis, 59, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014. She was born February 10, 1955 in Halifax County to the late William “Bill” and Pauline “Polly” Proctor Harris. Vickie is also preceded in death by her brother, Donald Ray Harris.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Mike Mathis; son, Christopher Newton and wife, Lori; daughter, Ellie Mathis and fiancé, Danny; five grandchildren. A service was held  Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Cornerstone Funeral Home and Cremations, Nashville.
