Edna Joyce Jones, age 80, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014. Born in Wayne County on January 10, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Mangum Watkins and Lois B. Weeks. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt Arnold Jones; son, Stephen Jones; sister, Betty Price; and brothers, Charles Watkins and Selby Watkins.
She is survived by daughters, Debbie Brinkley (David) of New Bern, Arnette Jones, Kim Jones, Michelle Edmondson (Johnnie) and Morgan Jones, all of Rocky Mount; son, Timmy Jones (Sue) of Smithfield; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jewel Thomas of Goldsboro and Kay Fisher of Red Oak.
A funeral service to remember Joyce was held Tuesday May 13, 2014 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Grogan officiating. Burial  followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
