Robert Teele Rawls, Jr., 87, died Friday May 2, 2014. He was born August 9, 1926 in Nash County son of the late Robert Teele, Sr. and Hazel Fountain Rawls.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Lucas of Castalia.
He is survived by his wife Susan Killebrew Rawls; his son Robert Teele Rawls, III and daughter, Cheri Donahue Rawls Lucas; daughter-in-law Sherry Moore Rawls; son-in-law Ray Lucas; two grandchildren; one  great grandson;  sister, Hazel Rawls Carr of West Palm Beach, FL, brother Bill Fitzhugh Rawls and wife Jean of Greenville, SC.
Funeral services were held at West Edgecombe Baptist Church on Sunday, May 4, 2014 with the Rev. Harry Kahn and Rev. Alan Mills officiating. Burial  followed at Pineview Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Rocky Mount Luncheon Lions Club, West Edgecombe Baptist Church for a charity of one’s choice in his honor.
