Three nabbed for recent home invasion
The Nash County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three suspects in connection with a home invasion that ocurred on January 27 just outside of Nashville.

The suspects allegedly broke into a home on the 3800 block of Old White Oak Road just before 9 p.m. The suspects shot Latron Richardson, 21, and injured his 28-year-old girlfriend and a child.

On January 30, the Nash County Sheriff’s Office arrested Tony Marichal Sharp, 19, and Byron Dale Whitaker, 21, both of Sharpsburg. On January 31, Gregory Devonte Robertson, 18, of Rocky Mount, was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

All three were charged with first degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon and three counts of first degree kidnapping. In addition, Whitaker was charged with first degree sexual offense and first degree rape.

Captain Pat Joyner, of the Nash County Sheriff’s Office, said the incident is still under investigation but did say the motive appears to be robbery. The suspects knew the victim, Joyner added.

Joyner would not elaborate on the sexual offense and rape charges but said they did not involve the child who was at home during the home invasion.

Sharp, Whitaker and Robertson were all placed in Nash County Jail under a $500,000 bond.
