South Old Carriage Road closed for drainage work
The N.C. Department of Transportation closed a section of South Old Carriage Road this week in eastern Nash County between West Mount Drive and Sapony Creek Drive. The road closure began on Tuesday, February 4, 2013 and will end at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013.

The closure is necessary for NCDOT maintenance crews to replace a drainage culvert on South Old Carriage Road about 0.3 mile south of West Mount Drive. The replacement is in preparation for a resurfacing project scheduled to take place on South Old Carriage Road this summer.

A signed detour will be in place during the closure. Northbound traffic on South Old Carriage Road will turn left on Sapony Creek Drive and then right on West Mount Drive back to South Old Carriage Road. Southbound traffic will follow the reverse route.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
