Sylvia Faye Faircloth Powell, age 69, passed away on Monday, January 07, 2013. Born in Nash County on November 27, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Dennis Sias Faircloth and Hennis Frazier Faircloth. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Powell; sisters, Betty F. Smith and Marion F. Williams; and brother, Dennis Bryan Faircloth.
She is survived by her son, Robert Allan Powell of the home; daughter, Linda Powell Gay and husband Tony of Sharpsburg; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Ponola F. Faircloth Colbert of Rocky Mount; and several nieces and nephews.
A service to remember Sylvia was held January 09, 2013 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Brooks and Rev. Harry Kahn officiating.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to West Edgecombe Baptist Church, 13821 NC Highway 43 N. Rocky Mount, NC, 27801.
