Daniel “Dan” Joseph Wheeler, 60, of Rocky Mount, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Duke Hospital. He was born June 26, 1951 in McLeansboro, IL the son of Thomas Winfield Wheeler of Benton, IL and the late Eleanor Greer Wheeler.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Joyner Wheeler of the home; brothers, Tommy D and wife, Lynda Wheeler of Buckner, IL, Steven W. and wife, Elizabeth Wheeler of DuQuoin, IL, Wendell L. and wife, Kim Wheeler of Carbondale, IL, and Scott V. and wife, MaryMiller Wheeler of Rocky Mount; father-in-law, Clarence L. Joyner of Rocky Mount; sisters-in-law, Dianne J. and husband, Terry Hill of Charlotte, Kay J. and husband, Dick Harward of Indian Trail, and Janet J. and husband, J. Michael Woodlief of Rocky Mount,; brother-in-law, Jerry and wife, Gwen Joyner of Kittrell; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2012 in the chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Griffin and Dr. Chet Rains officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
