Nash Central High School presents Shrek, the Musical on April 16, 17 and 18 at 7 p.m. at the Imperial Center, 207 Gay St., Rocky Mount. Tickets are $10 - only by visiting sherkmusical26 on Linktree. Nashville Parks & Recreation will host a free Residential Tree Care program on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 6-7 p.m. This informative session will feature Urban & Community Forestry Specialist John Sugg, who will share practical tips on selecting the right tree species for your home landscape, proper planting, mulching, and effective pruning for healthy, long-lasting trees. Whether you are planting new trees or caring for ones already in your yard, this program is a great opportunity to learn helpful techniques to keep your landscape thriving. The program will be held at Town of Nashville Parks & Recreation, located at 200 S. Boddie Street, Nashville. APRIL 17
Nashville Farmers Market will celebrate its opening day on April 17 from 3-7 p.m. Celebrate the start of the season with local produce, baked goods, crafts, and more! The afternoon will feature live music with Meredith & Co. (5:30 - 7:30 p.m.); Food Trucks: Barone Meatball Company & La Placita. The Farmers Market is located at 725 S. Barnes Street, Nashville. SNAP/EBT customers welcome.

The Nash County Arts Council presents Chairmen of the Board, Friday, April 17th at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7:10 p.m. General admission tickets are $27 in advance (events.ticketleap.com/events/nash-county-arts-council or 252-459-4734) or $32 at the door. 18th annual Down East Youth and Adult Bass Fishing Open Tournament will be held April 18 at the Rocky Mount Reservoir, Bend of the River Road, Rocky Mount. Food, door prizes, free boat rides plus a raffle for prizes will be held. Children ages 8-17 are welcome to participate. The Nashville Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Distinguished Citizen Reception on April 23 at the Nash Arts Center, 100 E. Washington St., Nashville. A reception begins at 6:30 p.m., the awards ceremony is at 7 p.m. The Junior Achievement Award will also be presented. Coopers Ruritan Club Chopped Pork BBQ Plates sale is April 24, 2026 from 11 am - until all gone - $10/plate. (Pork BBQ, potatoes, slaw and bread). Location is 3686 Volunteer Road beside the Coopers Fire Department. No tickets needed. Desserts also available for an additional price.

Paint Just Like Bob Ross in One Day! on April 25 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. A relaxing oil painting class led by a certified instructor trained in the Bob Ross method.
