Tony Gray Bass, 89 passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025. He was born July 4, 1936 in Nash County to the late Oliver and Mattie Strickland Bass. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ray Jones, son, Ricky Bass, and a grandchild, Hope LeahAnne Bass.
He is survived by his wife, Shelby Bass; sons, Mike Bass, Ronnie Bass (Teressa), T.C. Bass (Betheny), Russell VanOrder, Richard VanOrder, and Jeff VanOrder; brothers, Jesse Bass (Margaret) and Eric Bass (Debbie); sister, Lynn Bass;14 grandchildren; numerous generations of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held October 25, 2025 at Full Gospel Praise and Worship with Rev. Randy Stallings officiating. Burial was at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. |
