Nashville's Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Director, Koy Worrell, and the town's Tree Board agreed it was time to seek a risk assessment of the trees along Washington Street, many of which are assumed to be nearly or greater than 100 years-old.

In the previous three stanzas of Psalm 119, the psalmist is overwhelmed by a fierce storm of affliction and verses 81-88 is the low point of the psalm. The storm nearly wiped out his faith. In this section, the psalmist is coming through the storm. He is anchored to the sovereignty of God.
He is standing on the rock. Verses 89-96 record the psalmist's faith-filled testimony about the permanence, power, and perfection of God's word.

Take time to enjoy our "giving" trees

A Nashville citizen called me last week asking if I knew why white dots had been painted on many of the trees on Washington Street.
I had no clue and suggested maybe Duke Energy was looking at pruning some limbs prior to hurricane season. I promised him I'd check to find out if that was the case.
I checked in with our town manager to learn a professional Arborist had been called in to inspect and make a recommendation on the extremely mature trees which provide a beautiful canopy across the street.
