Spring Hope cited in stabbing

LOUISBURG -- Franklin County sheriff's deputies charged a woman with assault following a knifing.

Deputies responded to a home in the 200 block of Clearwater Lane just after 3:15 a.m. on Dec. 21 to find a man suffering from a stab wound to the back.

The man's injuries were not life-threatening.

A woman at the home, Jasmine Barnes, 24 of Spring Hope, admitted to the stabbing, said Franklin County Sheriff's Office Chief of Staff Terry Wright.

Barnes was charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

She is next slated to appear in court on Jan. 27.
