Nash County Animal Friends' Notebook

STRAYS ~ Most of the pets in the Shelter, in particular the dogs, are strays. Most of them are because people let their dogs out to potty, then they leave their yard for adventures, especially when they or other dogs are in heat. Obviously, for their safety and the safety of others, they need to be under control of their owners. See the regulations below. If you don't have a fenced yard, you should have them on a cable or on leash.

What does a Christian look like?

Recently, I was involved in a misunderstanding that turned out to be a real source of embarrassment.
The particulars are not important because the embarrassment that I experienced had nothing to do with the nature of the misunderstanding. I was embarrassed because the circumstances that surrounded the incident made me look as if I was the farthest thing from a Christian.

Intersections: God and Life

On the morning I was trying to compose my article, I realized how easy it is to take the path of least resistance. I don't expect any of us wake up on any given morning hoping that we will encounter discomfort or uneasiness of any kind. We also know the reality of life.
I also suppose readers of the Bible find it easier to read and engage those texts which are "easy" and more comforting than others.

When I started writing a column in this space over 20 years ago, I did not foresee a day I'd have to write a piece about the threat of socialism in America.
Of course, when we look at life in this country in 1997 compared to today, there are a lot of unbelievable things have come to pass that most of us never thought would be possible.
