SPRING HOPE - The Town of Spring Hope Board of Commissioners is now fully-seated again, after a new Board member, Eric Gainey, was approved and sworn in Nov. 6.
Gainey took the spot that was left vacant after the Sept. 15 resignation of Tony Jeffreys and was a candidate for Commissioner in a previous election.

RED OAK - The Red Oak Area Rotary (ROAR) Satellite Club celebrated its official chartering ceremony Nov. 9 at the Red Oak Community Building, with numerous friends and supporters welcomed to a Social prior to the pinning of members and presentations of the ROAR charter and special awards.
Attending and presenting were Rotary District 7720 Governor Anthony Santore from Oriental, Assistant Governor for Area 5 Anthony J. Engrassia, President of the Rotary Club of Rocky Mount Daryle L. Coppedge and President of the Nash Rocky Mount Rotary Club Shawn Lucas.

The first-ever Family Caregiver Retreat, a day of pampering, crafts, education and food, drew 35 registrants to the Nashville Ag Center Nov. 9. Sponsored by the Upper Coastal Plain Area Agency on Aging in partnership with the Nash County Senior Center, the 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. event was designed to give a bit of self-care to those who need it from the burdens of caring for others.

How can it be that Thanksgiving is next week?
As tradition, the week before turkey day at a newspaper office is nothing short of immense organized chaos.
The Thanksgiving edition of The Graphic tends to be the largest edition of the year boasting lots of features, news and of course holiday advertising. This is the time of year merchants hopefully make up for slower times of the year.

He appeared three times in the Bible. The first was that fateful night when under the cloak of darkness, he met with Jesus. It was a meeting that would change his life FOREVER! Nicodemus heard that he must be born again to go to heaven.

I'm sure we all have times when many thoughts overwhelm us. As I attempt to write this week's article, I want to speak to my readers about one of those: walking in God's presence.
The Bible reads, "Noah was a righteous man, blameless among his contemporaries; Noah walked with God." (Genesis 6:9, CSB) The Bible also tells us Enoch walked with God (Genesis 5:22) and many others walked with God and enjoyed an intimate relationship with Him.

Congratulations to Josh and Jenna Farmer and big sister, Aubree, on the birth of their son and brother, Bennett Mack, born on November 3! Proud grandparents are Rusty and Ginger Farmer.
Rahsun and Jessica Reams Lawrence were united in marriage on Saturday, November 11. Jessica is the daughter of Joe and Jo Ellen Reams and grandaughter of Billy and Marcia Davis. Congratulations!

The largest public exhibition of Bob Ross paintings ever shown in North Carolina is available to see now at the Dunn Center, located on the campus of North Carolina Wesleyan University at 3400 N. Wesleyan Blvd., Rocky Mount.
Started Nov. 2, the exhibition showcases 76 oil paintings and will be open until Jan. 4, with viewing hours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily. The cost for admission is $15, with children under 5 free. Special rates for school groups are available and school visits can still be scheduled.

"I have no idea how it's going to go, but we'll always be friends and work hard together for our sweet town." Brenda Brown, incumbent Nashville Mayor and successfully re-elected Tuesday night, said this just prior to the polls closing at the Nash County Ag Center to the candidates still assembled outside: Mary Grace Daughtridge, Xavien Harrison, and Bill Lumpp as 7:30 p.m. approached. Incumbent Town Council member Louise Hinton, and former mayor Donald Street had already left, seemingly anticipating the results.
