NASHVILLE, NC - Ruby B. Stallings, 100 died January 14, 2007. She was born in Nash County to Peter Ruffin and Rosa Cockrell Batchelor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hillard Stallings and three children, Rebecca S. Williams, Oliver Ruffin Stallings and Kenneth Waverly Stallings.

She is survived by two daughters, Louise S. Blake and her husband Carl, Janet S. Martin and her husband Charles both of Raleigh, NC; two sons, Jarman Edison Stallings and his wife Carolyn of Oxford, NC, Harvey Stallings and his wife Carol Jean of Nashville, NC.

She also leaves behind to cherish her memory 18 living grandchildren, 29 living great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Mary Lee (Jackie) Evans of Nashville for the many years of love, devotion and care she gave our mother. Our thanks also to the staff at Nash Grove Manor for their care and support they have shown to her and us.

Funeral services will be held at Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 226 S. Barnes Street, Nashville, NC at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2007 with Dr. Carleton McKita officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at the funeral home in Nashville, NC. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
