ROCKY MOUNT - Jesse Alston, 73, of Rocky Mount, died on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount.

A visitation for Mr. Alston was held from 4 to 6 p.m.on Friday, December 17, 2010, in the Rocky Mount Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home.  Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Whitakers, NC.  Pastor Oliver Washington officiated.  The interment took place immediately following the service in the Betts Family Cemetery in Whitakers.
