NASHVILLE – Mrs. Janet Adderine Rooks Hamilton, age 75, of Nashville, NC, died Saturday, December 18, 2010.

Born September 27, 1935 in Nash County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Mott and Mary Whitley Rooks.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert Lee Hamilton; a daughter, Jan Bass and her husband, Jody, of Spring Hope, NC; a sister, Lucille Rooks Hyde and her husband, Hubert, of Nashville, NC; a brother, Jesse Mott Rooks, Jr. and his wife, Frances, of Rocky Mount, NC; a brother-in-law, James Adron Hamilton of Rocky Mount, NC; and three grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Hamilton Ferraro; a sister, Lula Rooks Rose; and two brothers, Andrew Benjamin Rooks and Jimmie Carlton Rooks.

Funeral services were held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2010 in the Chapel of Wheeler &Woodlief Funeral Home.  The Rev. Todd Greene officiated.

The family received friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Committal services and entombment were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
