ROCKY MOUNT - Harold J. “Putt” Putnam passed away on September 30, 2010 at his home in Rocky Mount. He was born on May 20, 1938 to Irene and L.B. Putnam of Greenville County, South Carolina.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Linda Putnam; son, Edward Putnam and wife, Pam; daughters, Gloria Putnam and husband, Michael Fauls and Belinda Preston and husband, Mack; six grandchildren; and two sisters

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 1:30-3:00 pm at Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 661 English Road, followed by a service at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice Foundation of Edgecombe County (PO Box 100, Tarboro, NC  27886) or the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615.
