Mary Elizabeth Weaver McLaughlin, 86, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010. She was born in Nash County on July 25, 1924, daughter of the late King Solomon Weaver and Effie Kennedy Weaver. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William R. McLaughlin and son, Warren Lee McLaughlin.

Mary leaves behind a son, John McLaughlin; two grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and sister, Pattie Leigh Weaver Cone and husband Steve. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends and relatives 7-8:30p.m. Friday evening, September 17, 2010 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A service to remember Mary was  at 11:00a.m Saturday, September 18, 2010 in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Larry Smith officiated the service. Burial followed at Red Oak Cemetery.
