ROCKY MOUNT – Mrs. Laura Jean Battle, 73, of Rocky Mount, died on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at Hospice of Wake County in Raleigh, NC.

A visitation for Mrs. Battle was held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, September 3, 2010 in the Rocky Mount Chapel of H. D. Pope Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon, on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Bear Swamp Baptist Church in Littleton N.C. The interment took place immediately following the service in the Bear Swamp Church Cemetery.
