NASHVILLE – Mrs. Mildred Batchelor Cogdell, age 81, of Nashville, NC, has died.

She passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010. Born December 26, 1928 in Pender County, she was a daughter of the late Oris Viander and Viola Mae Sholar Batchelor. She was married to the late Joseph Bonnie Cogdell, who died March 19, 2007, and they were blessed with four children, two daughters and two sons.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Cogdell Page and her husband, Michael, of Sharpsburg, NC, and Karen Cogdell Greethurst and her husband, Michael, of Enid, OK; her son, Haywood Cogdell and his wife, Brenda, of Nashville, NC; sister, Eleanor Batchelor Harper, of Albertson, NC; brother, Kenneth Batchelor and his wife, June, of Carrollton, GA; sister-in-law, Judy Batchelor of Wilson; nine grandchildren: and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David Cogdell, and a brother, Horace Batchelor.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2010 in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home. Bishop Walter Compton officiated. Burial  followed at Wayne Memorial Park in Goldsboro, NC.

The family received friends from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 6, 2010 at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
