ROCKY MOUNT – John Colon Daughtridge, 87, passed away Friday, July 30, 2010 at Autumn Care Nursing Facility. He was born December 4, 1922 in Rocky Mount, son of John Levy Daughtridge and Mary Jane Joyner Daughtridge.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Alice Berry Daughtridge; daughter, Betty D. Jorgenson (Mark), and son Douglas Victor Daughtridge (Angela); 4 grandchildren; 3 nieces.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, William C. Daughtridge and Elsie Daughtridge Weaver.

A funeral service was  held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 2, 2010 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation with family and friends was from 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial followd at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Morton Presbyterian Church, 6605 West Mount Drive, Rocky Mount.
