JASPER BODDIE EDWARDS


NASHVILLE - Jasper Boddie Edwards, 94 died Friday, December 1, 2006. He was born in Nash County, September 29, 1912, son of the late Willie Carey Edwards and Dora Harris Edwards.

His wife Ruby Joyner Edwards, son, Billy Ray Edwards, daughter, Peggy Edwards Enroughty preceded him in death.

Survivors include daughters, Faye Edwards Batchelor and husband, Buck Batchelor of Davidsonville, MD, Beverly Ann Corbett of Nashville, NC, Bonnie Edwards Campbell and husband, Mike Campbell of Silver Spring, MD son, Leonard Wayne Edwards and wife, Gaye Holland Edwards of Whitakers, NC; son-in-law, Joseph Earl Enroughty of Nashville, NC; sister, Bertha Edwards Pompey of Benson, NC; brother, W. C. "Pig" Edwards and wife, Peggy Brantley Edwards of Middlesex, NC; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

The family received friends Sunday, December 3, 2006 at Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 1912 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount. A gathering to celebrate his life was held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2006 at Johnson Funerals and Cremations, Rocky Mount, with Rev. Danny Stalls, Rev. Rucker Burnette and Rev. Daniel West officiating. Burial followed at Forest Hill Cemetery.
