NASHVILLE - Funeral services for Mary B. Avent, 86, who died Saturday, June 5, 2010, will be Friday, June 11 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving: daughters, Bernice Arrington and Eunice Pompey, both of Nashville, Sudie Hewitt of Mt. Ranier, Md., Mary Smith of Hyattsville, Md.; sons, Robert Avent of Nashville, Ray L. Avent and Sidney Avent, both of Rocky Mount, Leroy Avent of Washington, D.C., Jimmy Avent of Brentwood, Md., Dennis Avent of Battleboro; sisters, Laura Jean Williams of Richmond, Va., brothers, Handy Pete Richardson of Richmond, Va., Larry McGee of Hopewell, Va., 33 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.

Wake services will be held at Richardson Funeral Home in Nashville on Thursday, June 10, from 7 - 8 p.m.
