Johnny Ray Ayscue, 49, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2010.  He was born April 30, 1961 in Nash County.  He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene W. Ayscue and a brother Eugene W Ayscue Jr.

He is survived by his wife Theresa Bobbitt Ayscue, two sons, Johnny Andru and wife Christie James Ayscue of Spring Hope, Travis Gene Ayscue and fiancé  Melissa Strickland of Nashville, his mother Margaret Mosley Ayscue of Castalia; father-in-law Charles A. Bobbitt and mother-in-law Idalene M. Taylor. He also had one adopted daughter, Shelly Honeycutt and husband Joseph of Waxhaw, NC;  one brother, Steve Ayscue and wife Kimberly of Castalia, and three sisters Daphine Vance and husband Bill of Nashville, Bonnie Varner and husband Larry of Louisburg, Angel Schneller and husband Harold of Wake Forest.  Four grand children; 3 adopted grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family in Alert, NC.

Visitation was held Tuesday, May 25, 2010 from 7:00-8:30 pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with the Rev. Dal Coppedge, Rev. Danny James and Rev. Robbie Piper officiating.  Burial   followed at the Ayscue/Bobbitt Cemetery at the family’s home.  The family will receive visitors at the home following the graveside service.
