Luther Martin Carpenter, Jr., 65, passed away, Saturday, May 1, 2010. He was born June 30, 1944 in Nash County. Luther was the son of the late Luther Sr. and Beatrice Pridgen Carpenter.

Surving his memory are his wife of 40 years, Rebecca Carol Carpenter, one son, Scott Carpenter of Rocky Mount, one brother, Ray Carpenter and wife Cathey of Chester, Virginia, one sister, Aileen Carpenter of Rocky Mount, and two grandchildren. A private Service will be held at a later date.
