ROCKY MOUNT -  Kenneth Elbert James of Rocky Mount passed on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Nash General Hospital. He was born November 02, 1943, in Brunswick County and was the son of Elbert and Ruth James. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. James is survived by his wife of forty years, Charlotte, their children, Michael James and wife Nicole, and Julie Mims and husband, Mike  and six grandchildren. His sister, Joanna James Gaither of Statesville, NC also survives.

A service to celebrate his life was held Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 3:30 pm. at Cornerstone Funeral Home and Cremations in Nashville, NC. with the Rev. Daniel Moss officiating. Visitation followed the service. The burial followed at a later date in the James Family Cemetery at Cypress Creek, N.C.

In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to be made to Sisterhood of Hope, a cancer support group sponsored by Englewood Baptist Church at 1350 S. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27803
