Wayne Turner Franks, 65, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 6, 1944 in Halifax County, son of the late Robert and Dorothy Franks. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jason Franks, granddaughter, Mirazai Franks; brother, Robert Franks; and sister, Debbie Collins.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Brenda Moore Franks; daughters, Laurie Ann Franks Mann of Raleigh and Jamie Marie Franks Boccardy and husband Joe of Boone; and son, Howard Franks and wife Lisa of Nashville; and 5 grandchildren; sister, Jean Franks Sigmon and husband Jerry; and his brother, Steve Franks.

The family received friends and relatives from 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A funeral service to remember Wayne was held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Chad Tucker and Rev. Lee Price officiating. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
