Essie Rhand, 80, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at her residence.

A wake for Mrs. Rhand was held from 7 - 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13 in the Rocky Mount Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home. The funeral service was Sunday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. at Gethsemane G. Holiness Church in Battleboro. The interment took place immediately following the service at Northeastern Cemetery in Rocky Mount.
