WHITAKERS - Will Avent, 90, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010. Funeral services were on Sunday, Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. at Pleasure Hill Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Rev. Wilson Battle officiating.

Surviving: wife, Dorothy Avent of the home; daughter, Evelyn Farmer of Whitakers; son, Charles Avent of Battleboro; sisters, Almeda Alston of Rocky Mount, Beatrice Davis and Betty Mae Avent, both of Whitakers; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.

Open visitation was Saturday, Jan. 9, from 3 - 8 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Nashville.
