CASTALIA - Calvert Lee Batt, Sr., 70, passed away Friday, October 16, 2009.  He was born in Washington, D.C. March 22, 1939 to the late Earle Edwin Batt, Sr. and Ellen Peters Batt.  He was preceded in death by his son, Calvert Lee Batt, Jr., his first wife, Patricia Ann Batt and a sister, Marie Norman.

 Survivors include his wife, Alice Stallings Batt of the home; son, Michael K. Batt and wife, Nicole of Castalia; two step-sons, Joe Stallings, Jr. and wife, Lisa of Nashville, Gene Stallings and wife, Elizabeth of Castalia; sister, Audrey Lawrence of Fredericksburg, VA; brothers, Earle Edwin Batt, Jr. of Atlantic Beach, William “Pappy” Batt of Fredericksburg, VA, Pete Batt of Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren and several beloved nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate his life was held 7:00p.m. Monday, October 19, 2009 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with Dr. Carleton McKita officiating.

The family received friends following the service.
