Maynard Astor Manning, 92, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease and cancer. He was born June 14, 1917 in McCreary County , Kentucky . 

Survivng: Lucy Asia Tant Manning.  He also leaves his son, Brent Manning and wife Delby of Rocky Mount; sister, Margaret M. Glancy, of Pine Knot, KY; sister, Gloria M. Perkins and husband Orville of Pine Knot, Ky; a newphew and two nieces.

 He is preceded in death by his parents, Nellie Ball and Edward Manning, brother, Virgil S. Manning and wife Eleanor; brother, Lewis E. Manning; and sister, Patsy Manning.

 Visitation was Saturday, October 3 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. Funeral service was held on Sunday, October 4 at 3 p.m. at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at Rocky Mount Memorial Park following the service.

 Friends and family were received at the home of Maynard’s son, Brent Manning.
