NEW YORK, N.Y. - Rachel Mae Smith, 89, formerly of Rocky Mount, died Thursday, July 9, 2009 at St. Luke Hospital in New York, N.Y.

Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2009  at Light of Peace Missionary Baptist Church in Rocky Mount. Interment took place immediately following the service in Gardens of Gethsemane Cemetery in Rocky Mount.

Visitation was 5 - 7 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2009 at the Rocky Mount chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home.
