James “Jim” Roszel Swindell Jr., 59, passed away Friday, June 5th, 2009. He was born Tuesday, October 11th, 1949. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Roszel Swindell Sr. and Beulah Botsford Swindell.

Jim is survived by his wife, Bertie “B.J.” Swindell of the home; a son, James “Jimmy” Gregory Swindell and wife, Amanda of Maysville; a daughter, Jennifer Swindell Eason and husband, Shane of Nashville; a brother, David Swindell of Florida; and three step-children, Jason Rackley and spouse, Gray of Rocky Mount, Brian Rackley and wife, Melinda of Rocky Mount, Daryl Rackley and wife, Katie of Raleigh; and two granddaughters.

The family received friends at Johnson Funerals and Cremations on English Road Sunday, June 7th, 2009 at 1:30 – 2:30 P.M. Funeral services followed at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, June 7th, 2009 in the chapel. The interment was at Rocky Mount Memorial Park
