Kathy Droddy Rice passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026. She was born on June 22, 1955, in Pineville, Louisiana.

Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Ola Mae Droddy; her father, John Droddy Jr.; her sister, Marlene Carter; her brothers, Larry Neil Droddy and Terry Lynn Droddy; one grandchild;er longtime life partner and friend, Jerry Denton.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeana (Meliton) Mendoza, and her son, Chris (Heather) Rice; her granddaughter and granddaughter-in-law; four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Carolyn (Steve) Abernathy and Sheila (Kurt) Crump; her brother, Robert (Doris) Droddy.

Visitation and a celebration of Kathy's life will be held at Cornerstone Funeral Home in Nashville on Saturday, October 24, from 2:00 p.m. until the service begins at 3:30 p.m. The service will be conducted by Larry Whichard of Elm Grove Baptist Church in Nashville.

Following the service, Kathy will be transported to Kentucky with her son, Chris, where she will be laid to rest at the Rice Family Cemetery in Grayson, Kentucky. A graveside service will be conducted by Malone Funeral Home on Monday October 25th 2026 with Steve Owen, pastor of Maranatha Bible Church, officiating.
