Jacob Allen Matthews, 35, passed away September 26, 2026. He was born October 15, 1990. He is preceded in death by his father Steve Matthews, granddaddy Pete, grandma Vaughn, grandmama Mayo, granddaddy Mayo.

Jacob is survived by his mother Alicia Taylor; sisters Kara McGhee (Patrick), Kristan Strickland; his nieces, nephew uncles and aunts.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026 at West Edgecombe Baptist Church with Pastor Matthew Mayo officiating.
