Edward Thomas Carpenter, 66, passed away, Wednesday, March 25, 2009. He was born May 5, 1942 in Nash County. He was the son of the late, Joseph Edward and Alice “Reatha” Sherrod Carpenter. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marlene Richardson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 47 years, Alice “Fay” Outlaw Carpenter, four sons, Scott Carpenter of Raleigh, Dean Carpenter of Greenville, Keith Carpenter and wife Sherry of Castalia, Terry Carpenter and wife Nicole of Louisburg, two brothers, Zollie Carpenter and wife Patsy of Sandy Cross, Danny Ray Carpenter and wife Jessica of Castalia, one sister, Ann Nelms and husband Clifton of Nashville, three grandchildren.

Funeral Service was Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 6:00PM in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Reuben Batchelor officiating. Visitation followed after the service.
