Romas Rudolph Horton was born on November 13, 1944, to the late Romas and Naomi Horton. He passed away April 2, 2026.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Horton of 63 years; two daughters, Pamela Powell and Towanda Horton-Short of Upper Marlboro, MD; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mattie Crudup (late James Crudup) of Fort Washington, MD, Peggy Hines and Edna Goodson (Bryant Goodson) of Wendell; four sisters-in-law: Barbara Baker (late Sylvester Baker) of Newport News, VA, Mary Emma Robertson (late William Robertson) of Raleigh, Gloria Horton (late Bishop George Horton) of Raleigh, and Patsey Ann Fox (late Rupert Fox) of Nashville; two brothers-in-law: Thomas Fox (Jackie Fox) of Raleigh and William Fox of Rocky Mount; many nieces, nephews.
