ROCKY MOUNT - Retha Noble James, 87, passed away March 17, 2026. Born on November 25, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Tylon Kermon and Retha Kermon.

Along with her parents, Retha is preceded in death by her beloved husband; Tom James, her son, Brad James; her brother, Tim Kermon; and her sisters, Joyce Brit and Jean Woodcock.

She is survived by her son, Brian James (Tammy); her granddaughter, Baileigh James; and many loving nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close.

A graveside service to honor her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Pineview Cemetery, 761 E Raleigh Blvd, Rocky Mount, NC 27803.

In Lieu of Flowers the family would like donations to be made to Englewood Baptist Church, 1350 S Winstead Ave, Rocky Mount, NC 27803.
