ROCKY MOUNT - Kenneth R. Garrett, born June 1, 1954, passed away at 71 years old. He was the son of Woodrow Wilson Garrett and Cora Mae Wiggins Garrett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Garrett and sister, Nancy Garrett.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Garrett; his daughters, Nikki Etheridge of Rolesville and Mitzi Safrit of Cape Carteret; three grandchildren; his sons-in-law, Johnny Etheridge and Henry Safrit; his sisters, Betty Wall of Rocky Mount and Kathy Dixon (David) of Wilson; along with several nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.

A service was held February 28, 2026 at Northside Church, Rocky Mount. Interment with military honors followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
