Laura Ann Smith, 81, passed away February 1, 2026. She was born December 30, 1944 to the late Roy and Nettie Wiggins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers Alton, Jack and Jessie Wiggins; sister Faye Varnell.

Laura is survived by her son Phillip Taylor Jr.; daughters Angela Taylor, Patricia Richardson, Charlene Newsome; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brothers Leroy and Marvin Wiggins; sisters Jean Mills, Doris Tyer, Joyce Wiggins and Louise Chauncey.

A service was held February 9, 2026 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
