ROCKY MOUNT - Stephen Craig Matthews, age 72, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026. He was born on November 9, 1953, to Harold and Margie Matthews of Spring Hope. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his brothers, Bobby Lynn Matthews of Baton Rouge, LA and Timothy Harold Matthews (Betsy) of Asheville; and nieces and nephews.

A service was held February 3, 2026 at Davis-Little Funerals, Rocky Mount. Burial was at Oak Dale Cemetery in Spring Hope.
