Rocky Mount - Charles "Skip" Shafer, Jr., age 79, passed away January 9, 2026.

Skip was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Cockrell Shafer.

He is survived by his sons, Christopher Shafer of Rocky Mount, Kevin Hall and wife, Lisa, and Scott Hall and wife, Janice, all of Nashville; his daughter, April Jenkins; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended relatives.

While floral tributes are welcomed, memorial donations to assist the family with expenses will also be appreciated.

A memorial service was held January 12, 2026, at Davis-Little Funerals, Rocky Mount.
